The brief for this fun cake was to make a showstopping design to help a special girl, celebrate her 18th birthday.
After a few discussions with the client via email, a vibrant Alice in Wonderland themed cake became the focus of the design. The cake needed to be chocolate complete with a bow at bottom, Alice legs on top of the cake, the drink me potion, cheshire cat and stop watch!
After the celebration, I received a lovely email from the client that made my day:
“The cake. WOW what can I say it is absolutely stunning, it is better than I could have imagined. Megan absolutely loves it. I will send you a photo when I unbox it. Thank you so very much, it is stunning!! You are very clever!! Thank you so much for making her birthday extra special "
The latest review of a Fun Cakes cake is in! The brief for this cake was to make a showstopping cake to help celebrate a 60th Birthday for a very special lady. Having created this client 50th Birthday cake 10 years ago, I had a good idea what she had in mind, but it was great to see this client back again for another cake to help her celebrate her special birthday.
After a few discussions we settled on a centrepiece cake to feed 80 people over two tiers with a silver glitter ball theme. After the celebration, I received a lovely email from the client that made my day:
“I just wanted to say thank you again for my cake. It was absolutely stunning and tasted absolutely delicious!
Everyone was so impressed with it and it looked perfect on the night and went so well with the decorations in the room.
You really are very talented!"

The brief was heartwarming: a cake that captured his lifelong love of gardening. The client kindly supplied a photo of her father-in-law, which allowed me to model a personalised iced character of him, seated proudly on top of the cake and surrounded by a charming array of vegetables, garden tools, and his trusty spade. Every detail was carefully chosen to reflect his passion and personality, making the cake not just a treat, but a tribute.
